Crown Point Garden Club

The Crown Point Garden Club was organized on August 13, 1929. We are celebrating our 90th anniversary this year. The Mission Statement for the National Garden Clubs, Inc. is to provide education, resources, and national networking opportunities for its members to promote the love of gardening, floral design, and civic and environmental responsibility.
In 2018 the club placed a Blue Star Memorial Marker on the City Square as a tribute to all service men women. The club maintains plantings at the “Old Lake County Courthouse” and next to the Covered Bridge at the Lake County Fair Grounds.
Each year we make live floral arrangements for Meals on Wheels recipients in Crown Point, Cedar Lake and Lake of the Four Seasons. We have speakers at most of our meetings to educate our members on various topics regarding gardening, environment and ecology.
We donate money to various state and National Garden Club projects including the Kankakee Conservation project, the Shirley Heinze Land Trust and Habitat for Humanity.
We are currently planning a pollinator garden for property outside the Lake County Fairgrounds.
